Additive manufacturing with electron-beam melting

Arcam AB

+46 (0)31 710 32 00

Arcam, a Swedish manufacturer of electron-beam melting (EBM) machines and consumables, offers a complete portfolio of EBM machines, auxiliary equipment, software and metal powders.

Arcam, which also offers service and training to support its customers, says it aims to revolutionize the art of manufacturing complex parts.

Arcam has filed more than 25 patent families for its EBM technology and has currently more than 50 granted patents in various countries.

Most of its customers are in the aerospace or medical industries.

Arcam uses additive manufacturing with its EBM process.

With AM, parts are built by melting thin layers of powder. Material is added instead of removed, as is the case in traditional machining.

Each layer is melted to the exact geometry defined by a CAD model. AM allows for building parts with very complex geometries without tooling, fixtures and without producing any waste material.
